The Safe Surfin’ Foundation strives to prevent children from being targeted by Internet predators.
Sheriff Mike Brown from Operation Blue Ridge Thunder (BRT) is the director in collaboration with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
Safe Surfin’ educates parents, teachers, and children about Internet safety. The organization has helped identify countless online predators and bring justice to victims.
Safe Surfin’ makes public service announcements, hosts special events and distributes educational materials throughout the community. The organization works closely with the U.S. Department of Justice, law enforcement, school systems, libraries, worship centers, and corporations, to reach as many people as possible.
Safe Surfin’ Foundation Mission Statement:
Through its interactive website, special events, printed materials, PSAs, and other educational opportunities, Safe Surfin’ educates the public about Internet crimes involving children. Safe Surfin’ works with the U.S. Department of Justice, school systems, public libraries that offer Internet access, law enforcement agencies, and corporate sponsors to expand its educational outreach. Safe Surfin’ seeks donations from individuals and corporations to further its mission.
